Polyclonal rabbit anti-arctic char vitellogenin

Contents:
This product consists of Protein-G affinity-purified polyclonal rabbit antibodies against vitellogenin from Arctic char (Salvelinus alpinus). The antibodies are dissolved in 0.1M Na-phosphate, 0.15M NaCl, 1% BSA, 0.1% Na-azide, pH 7.4.

Immunogen source:
Vitellogenin purified from plasma of 17ß-estradiol treated Arctic char .

Specificity:
PO-1 binds to vitellogenin in plasma samples from Arctic char. The antibody cross-reacts well with Vtg in plasma samples from Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar), brown trout (Salmo trutta), Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua), turbot (Scophthalmus maximus), flounder (Platichthys flesus), wrasse (Ctenolabrus rupestris) and tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), and reacts somewhat with vitellogenin from zebrafish (Danio rerio). The degree of cross-reactivity differ between species and with the different methods employed.

Applications:
PO-1 is well suited for ELISA and immunoblotting. Since assay conditions vary, the optimum dilution should be determined for each particular application. Note: The antibody is dissolved in a buffer containing BSA, and is therefore not recommended to use for coating.

Normal dilution range:
1:1000 - 1:3000 (Salmonids)
1:500 - 1:1000 (Other species)
