Polyclonal rabbit anti-salmon vitellogenin

Contents:
This product consists of Protein-G affinity-purified polyclonal rabbit antibodies against vitellogenin from Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar). The antibodies are dissolved in 0.1M Na-phosphate, 0.15M NaCl, 1% BSA, 0.1% Na-azide, pH 7.4.

Immunogen source:
Vitellogenin purified from plasma of 17ß-estradiol treated Atlantic salmon.

Specificity:
AA-1 binds to vitellogenin in plasma samples from Atlantic salmon. The antibody cross-reacts well with Vtg in plasma samples from other salmonids (Salmoniformes), flatfish (Pleuronectiformes), and Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua). The degree of cross-reactivity differs between species and with the different methods employed. 

Applications:
AA-1 is well suited for ELISA and immunoblotting for a number of species. Since assay conditions vary, the optimum dilution should be determined for each particular application. Note: The antibody is dissolved in a buffer containing BSA, and is therefore not recommended to use for coating.

Normal dilution range:
1:1000 - 1:3000 (Salmonids)
1:50 - 1:2000 (Other species)
