Contents:
The product consists of Protein-G affinity-purified mouse monoclonal antibodies against vitellogenin from Atlantic salmon. The antibodies are dissolved in 0.1 M Na-phosphate buffer, 0.15 M NaCl, 1% BSA, 0.1% Na-azide, pH 7.4.

Immunogen source:
Vitellogenin purified from plasma of 17ß-estradiol induced Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar).

Specificity:
KB-1 has a high degree of specificity for vitellogenin from Atlantic salmon and other Salmo spp. The antibody cross react with vitellogenin in plasma samples from brown trout (Salmo trutta), but does not cross-react with vitellogenin in plasma samples from rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss), Artic Charr (Salvelinus alpinus), Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua), turbot (Scophthalmus maximus) or halibut (Hippoglossus hippoglossus). The degree of cross-reactivity differ between species and with the different methods employed.

Applications:
KB-1 is well suited both for ELISA and immunoblotting. Since assay conditions vary, the optimum dilution should be determined for each particular application. Note: The antibody is dissolved in a buffer containing BSA, and is therefore not recommended to use for coating.
